For this beautiful French Country Kitchen we created a more family-like atmosphere by removing part of the wall that separated the kitchen and family room. We relocated the laundry room and turned the former space into a wet bar and storage/drop-off area for coats and shoes. We did a lot of work on the cabinets and counters. We installed new granite countertops and cabinet hardware, but reused some of the cabinets. By reusing many of the existing cabinets and adding a few new ones, we were able to create a completely new, custom-designed kitchen for the client and still save them some money. We removed the furr downs, replaced all cabinet doors and drawer fronts, and added trim work. We also painted, glazed, and sealed the cabinets. Finally, we reworked the existing pantry for more storage based on the client’s needs, and gave a touch of color to the room with the red door.
